ALBA SAGOLS
At the intersection of sensitive exploration and analytical approach, Alba Sagols develops a multidimensional artistic practice in which installation takes center stage. Her creative process is grounded in a rigorous protocol of collecting elements from various environments: digital data (sounds, images), manufactured materials (polymers, foams, resins), and natural elements (sheddings, bones, wood, fungi). These fragments, both tangible and intangible, make up a shifting cartography that she reassembles as sculptures, soundscapes, videos, and writings.
Her installations unfold as hybrid spaces where temporalities and narrative layers overlap. Through collection, assembly, and composition, she shapes universes where intimate and collective memory, mythological stories, and biological archives intermingle. In doing so, her work explores the connection—or the distance—between humans and the living, through the lenses of history, beliefs, and the traces left by the passage of time.
A graduate of the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Montpellier and recipient of the MO.CO. Season 6 program in 2023, Alba Sagols has presented her work in France and internationally, notably in Helsinki, São Paulo, and Montpellier.
